You might have noticed that I love a challenge. So eventhough I didn't have the time to create on InterNational Scrapbook Day, I still wanted to join in the fun at Winnie and Walter and Pinkfresh Studio! This card is based on a sketch for the challenges. I love the slanting lines in the sketch and it was great to use them in a card :). And... it's a great way to use some of your scrap papers! Al of these papers are 'leftovers' but the colors combined pretty well. The simple layout from the sketch was great for a card that's a bit more 'male' than my usual cards.

The sentiment stamp is from Winnie and Walter (a tree for all seasons). The papers are leftovers from a Simon Says Stamp card kit and the sequins are from Doodlebug. And in case you wanted to know, the buttons and the chipboard are from a 'dollarstore' here in the Netherlands.

Het is misschien wel opgevallen dat ik wel van challenges houd. Dus ondanks dat ik geen tijd had om creatief te zijn op de 'officiele' InterNational Scrapbook Day, wilde ik natuurlijk wel meedoen met de Winnie and Walter en Pinkfresh Studio uitdaginen. Deze kaart is gebaseerd op een schets van een van de challenges. Ik vond de schuine lijnen erg leuk om me te werken. En het is een goede manier om je restjes papier op te maken. Alle stukjes papier zijn overgebleven uit andere projectjes en ze pastten wel mooi bij elkaar zo. De eenvoudige opzet van de kaart was ideaal om een keer een wat mannelijkere kaart te maken.

De stempel is van Winnie and Walter (a tree for all seasons). Het papier heb ik over van een Simon Says Stamp card kit en de sequins zijn van Doodlebug. De knoopjes en de afbeelding zijn van de Xenos en de Action.

 

I have another video to share with you today. This time it's all about assembling the card. Newtons Nook had a great sketch challenge and I used one of the images from my sketchbook. I have a couple of pages with stamped images in my sketchbook and whenever I have some time to color I'll just take my sketchbook and color the stamped images. This way I don't have to get out all of my supplies everytime.

I used the sketch from Newton as a base for my card and wel... let's just see the result :).

Ik heb weer een video om te delen vandaag. Dit keer gaat het meer over het in elkaar zetten van de kaart. Newtons Nook had een leuke uitdaging met een schets erbij en ik heb een van de afbeeldingen uit mijn schetsboek hiervoor gebruikt. Ik stempel regelmatig een pagina vol in mijn schetsboek zodat ik de plaatjes in kan kleuren als ik tijd heb. Zonder dat ik hiervoor al mijn spullen weer tevoorschijn moet halen.

De schets is dus de basis voor mijn kaart geworden.

The last few weeks the song ‘Holy’ from The City Harmonic is one of my favorite songs. I can’t say what it’s exactly, but I really love it. I used this song as a starting point for todays journaling.

De laatste weken is ‘Holy’ van The City Harmonic één van mijn favoriete nummers. Ik kan niet precies omschrijven waarom het zo is, maar ik vind het gewoon ontzettend mooi. Dit lied is dan ook het uitgangspunt geweest voor deze pagina.

I wanted to incorporate this song into my journaling Bible, it means a lot to me and when I’m overwhelmed by everything that’s happening in this world it’s good to set your mind on the feature. Not this life, but life with and for God. Now I’m writing this, I think that is what makes this song so special to me. A little look into the feature, seeing something good right in the middle of all the chaos now. Because one day, we’ll be there singing; Holy is the Lord almighty.

I doubted a bit about the part where I would use this song. I could use it in Isaiah 6 or Revelation 4, where it’s about the part ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come’. But eventually I decided to use it for Revelation 19, the part about the wedding of the Lamb.

“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.”

Ik wilde het lied verwerken in mijn Bijbel, het betekent veel voor me. Vooral wanneer je overladen wordt met al het negatieve nieuws wat er momenteel is dan werkt het soms het beste om te focussen op wat voor ons ligt. Niet wat er in dit leven gebeurt, maar wat er nog komen gaat bij God. Nu ik dit opschrijf bedenk ik me ineens dat dat waarschijnlijk juist is wat dit lied zo bijzonder maakt voor mij. Een soort blik in de toekomst, iets goed in het midden van de chaos. Want één dag zullen we zingen; Heilig is de Heer almachtig.

Ik heb even getwijfeld bij welk gedeelte van de bijbel ik dit stuk zou zetten. Het zou in Jesaja of op verschillende plekken in Openbaringen kunnen passen. Uiteindelijk ben ik voor Openbaringen 19 gegaan, het stuk over de bruiloft van het Lam.
