Our cats have a 'special thing' with boxes, especially cardboard boxes (and well, which cat doesn't?). When I saw this stamp set from MFT stamps I immediately thought about our cats and it went straight to my wishlist. And as you see, it made it to my home too haha. I colored the cat with distress markers and water. After the coloring I diecut the cat with a die from Simon Says Stamp and I diecut the rectangle tag with a die from MFT stamps. On that tag I stamped with the birthday wishes from Simon Says Stamp, switching with brands here ;). I used some bright red patterned paper for the background, a red ribbon and some sequins to finish the card. 

Onze katten hebben iets met dozen, voornamelijk met kartonnen dozen (en tja, welke kat heeft dat nu niet?). Toen ik deze stempelset van MFT stamps zag heb ik hem dan ook gelijk op mijn verlangenlijstje gezet. En zoals je ziet is hij inmiddels ook in huis gekomen haha. Ik heb de kat gekleurd met distress markers en water. Na het inkleuren heb ik de kat uitgestanst met een stans van Simon Says Stamp en heb ik een rechthoek uitgestanst met een stans van MFT stamps. Op het rechthoekje heb ik een verjaardagstekst van Simon Says Stamp gestempeld (lekker, al dat wisselen met de merken ;)). Voor de achtergrond heb ik rood papier gebruikt. Nog een rood lintje en wat sequins en klaar zijn we weer.

Or maybe a cup of tea ;) I don't like coffee haha. I continued the vintage style from last week in this card. This time I used some scrap papers that had a pretty vintage feel to them. I just hate to throw away beautiful papers so I tend to end with a lot of scrap pieces (and sometimes I really have to throw them away... something I have to learn to do more.). I love the little golden accents on the images so I added a couple of golden sequins to match those accents. To finish this card I added a wood veneer element and some enamel dots. The wood veneer works really well with the gold and brown colors in this card.

Neem een kopje koffie met me, of misschien een kopje thee ;). Ik hou namelijk helemaal niet van koffie haha. Deze week ben ik weer verder gegaan met de vintage stijl van de vorige week. Ik heb wat restjes papier gebruikt die ik nog had liggen. Ik heb er gewoon een hekel aan om mooi papier weg te gooien, wat erin resulteert dat ik dus een heleboel stukjes papier heb liggen. Soms moet ik ze dan ook echt weggooien, dat moet ik nog wat beter leren te doen... Om deze kaart af te maken heb ik nog een stukje wood veneer en enamel dots gebruikt. Het hout combineert erg mooi met het bruin en goud in deze kaart.

My crafty friend Ka, from Stamping Smiles Designs, is starting a new challeng next year. The Tic Tac Toe challenge. She's looking for a couple of design team members and of course I'm applying for the team :). I would love to help her with these challenges and I love the tic tac toe idea. There are so many options! I had a hard time choosing my row.

Eén van mijn 'hobbyvrienden', van Stamping Smiles Designs, start volgend jaar met een nieuwe challenge: de Tic Tac Toe challenge. Ze is op zoek naar een aantal leden voor haar design team en daar wil ik natuurlijk wel aan meewerken :). Ik vind het Tic Tac Toe idee erg leuk, er zijn zoveel opties! Het was nog moeilijk om de rij te kiezen die ik wilde maken.

Eventually I decided to work with the middle row: leaves, embossing and sparkles. Just perfect for this fall season. I embossed my leaves (from Winnie and Walter) with gold glitter embossing powder from Wow! embossing. After that I watercolored the background with Gansai Tambi watercolors. I diecut a smaller piece from my background panel with MFT stitched rectangle dies and added a little bit of twine around it. I added a little tag (that I also cut with the same die set) with the message 'thinking of you' and a little bird (both from Newton's Nook). I added an orange ribbon to my card and distressed the edges of the card with some ink. After that I adhered the background with some dimensional tape and that finished my card!

Uiteindelijk heb ik gekozen voor de middelste rij: blaadjes, embossing en glitter. Passend bij dit seizoen. Ik heb mijn blaadjes (van Winnie and Walter) 'ge-embossed' met gouden glitter embossing poeder van Wow!. Daarna heb ik de achtergrond ingekleurd met Gansai Tambi waterverf. Ik heb een rechthoek uitgestanst met de stansen van MFT en heb er een draadje omheen gespannen waar de tekst aan vast zit. Ik heb een oranje lint over de kaart gespannen en de randjes 'distressed' met wat inkt. Daarna heb ik de achtergrond op de kaart geplakt met 3D-tape. En dat was het!

I tried to capture the golden glitters on this card but it's pretty hard to see in the pictures. But it does give a really special effect to the card :).

Ik heb geprobeerd om de gouden glitters op de foto te zetten maar dat is best lastig te zien. Het geeft wel een heel mooi effect aan de kaart :).
