I love the dark wood backgrounds but I don't have a lot of papers that have them and for some reason I don't use them a lot on cards. Maybe because the card gets a dark appearence or something like that. But with this little fox I thought it fitted really well.

Ik vind de donkere houten achtergronden erg mooi maar ik heb niet veel papier waar het op voorkomt en om de een of andere reden gebruik ik het ook niet zoveel op kaarten. Misschien omdat de kaarten een donkere uitstraling krijgen erdoor, maar voor deze kaart met het vosje vond ik het erg goed passen.

For this card I didn't have to do a lot of stamping, only for the sentiment (A miracle in a cradle, so incredibly small, a wonder in a cradle, too good to be true). Besides the stamping I only had to look for some matching patterned papers. And of course a ribbon and sequins to finish my card.

Voor deze kaart heb ik alleen de tekst gestempeld en voor de rest heb ik mooie papiertjes bij elkaar gezocht. En natuurlijk een lintje en wat sequins om het af te maken.

No stamped images for today, I made a 3D-card this time. I like to play with patterned papers and this festive owl was just the right subject to play with.

I adhered the 3D image onto a diecut circle and made a 'patterned' background with two blue papers. I only had to add the wood veneer owl and the sequins to finish my card and that's it :).

Ik heb het 3D plaatje op een gestanste circel geplakt en daarna heb ik alles op de blauwe achtergrond (gemaakt met twee dessin papiertjes) geplakt. Ik hoefde alleen nog maar de houten uil en de sequins toe te voegen en dat maakte deze kaart al af :).

Shepherds, there are a lot of references in the Bible to these people. We are shepherds for the people of God, but God is our shepherd too. Today I want to look at the passage in Isaiah 40; where God will guide his people like a shepherd, He will gather the lambs with his arm, carry them and gently lead them.

And while the grass withers and the flower fades, the word of our God stands forever. This is a part of the same chapter. I think it’s a very soothing thought that God will lead His people and that we can trust Him with that. His word stands forever… forever, so it was true back then but it’s still true now. And while this part is written for the people of Israel, we know He will lead us too. He will carry us and gently lead us.

Er wordt in de bijbel veel verwezen naar herders. Wij zijn de herders van het volk van God, maar God is onze herder ook weer. Vandaag heb ik gekozen voor Jesaja 40; waar God Zijn volk leidt als een herder. Hij verzamelt de lammeren in Zijn armen, Hij draagt en leidt ze.

En, terwijl het gras vergaat en de bloemen verwelken, het woord van God houdt altijd stand. Een zin uit dezelfde tekst. En meteen een erg geruststellende zin. God zal Zijn mensen leiden en daarop mogen we vertrouwen. Zijn woord houdt voor altijd stand. Voor altijd... Het was dus waar in de tijd dat dit geschreven werd, maar het is nu nog steeds waar. En ondanks dat dit gedeelte voor Israël is geschreven, mogen wij ook weten dat God ons wil leiden. Hij zal ons dragen en zorgzaam leiden.
