Het verhaal van Job heeft me altijd geinteresseerd. Zijn hele leven komt op zijn kop te staan, maar hij blijft zijn geloof in God houden. Zijn vrienden komen één voor één vertellen wat hij anders zou moeten doen of waar hij de fout in ging, ze dachten allemaal te weten hoe het zat. Maar dan gaat God spreken... We denken misschien dat we tegenwoordig alles weten, dat we alles wat we willen kunnen verdienen. Maar in vergelijking met God zijn we zo klein. Hij heeft de aarde geschapen, het heelal, elke boom, elk diertje en zelfs jou. We denken dat we veel weten maar... waar was ik toen de aarde werd gemaakt? God heeft het laatste woord. Hij heeft de wereld immers zelf geschapen. Als ik het plan niet meer zie, betekent dat niet dat God geen plan heeft. Hij weet wat Hij doet.
I’ve always been interested in the story of Job. How his life gets turned upside down and he still keeps his faith. He got lectures from all of his friends, they thought that they knew what he had to do or what he did wrong. And then God starts speaking… We think we know everything, we think we can earn a lot in our lives but in comparison to God we are so, so small. He created the earth, the heavens, every tree, all the creatures and even you. I can think that I know a lot but… where was I when the world was made? God has the last word. He created the entire world. When I don’t see the plan, that doesn’t mean there is no plan. God definitely knows what He’s doing.
Ik heb de pagina weer voorbereid met clear gesso en de plaatjes/teksten gestempeld met zwarte inkt. Ik heb de tekst 'where was I when de world was made' (waar was ik toen de aarde werd gemaakt) geschreven en een stippellijntje om de wereldbol gemaakt met een zwarte pen. Ik heb daarna een masker geknipt voor de wereldbol en de blauwe achtergrond met Distress inkt aangebracht. Hiervoor had ik eigenlijk iets langer moeten wachten want mijn inkt was nog niet helemaal droog. Ik heb de plaatjes ingekleurd met kleurpotlood en wat rub-ons op de pagina gedaan om alles af te maken.
Voor deze pagina heb ik twee stempelsets gebruikt, Awesome Thoughts en Send Me:
I prepared my page with clear gesso and stamped my images with black ink. After that I wrote down the sentence 'where was I when the world was made' and added a dashed border around the world. I masked the earth and blended out some blue ink around the world. I didn't wait long enough so the words smudged a little bit... I colored the images with colored pencils and added some rub ons to finish the page.
