#BJbibleproject - Jehovah - Februari 1

De HEERE, onze God, de Heer is één. Het tweede stukje uit de sjema. Dit is het stukje waar we deze maand verder over na gaan denken. En dan vooral over het woord 'Jehovah', ook wel afgekort tot YHVH. Vier letters... maar niet zomaar vier letters. Deze vier letters dragen meer in zich dan je misschien zou denken.

JEHOVAH: HEER

HEER, dat is in ieder geval de vertaling die wij gebruiken. Maar er zit veel meer in dit woordje dan alleen 'Heer'. Wanneer Mozes aan God vraagt wie hem gezonden heeft, wie God eigenlijk is, dan is het antwoord vrij duidelijk: IK BEN. In een enkel woord omschrijft God wie Hij is. Hij is. Hij is niet afhankelijk van ons, maar Hij was er al voor wij bestonden. Voor deze wereld bestond. Maar Hij zal er ook altijd zijn. Voor eeuwig.
Yahweh is de 'persoonlijke' titel die Mozes krijgt om God te omschrijven, een vervoeging van het werkwoord zijn, 'Hij zal zijn'. Meer over deze titel en de verandering van de naam kun je terugvinden in het filmpje van het Bible Project.

The LORD, our God, the Lord is one. The second part of the shema. This is the part we're going to think about this month. Especially about the word 'Jehovah', also known as JHVH. Four letters... but not just four letters. There's more to these letters than you would think.

Jehovah: LORD

LORD, that's the word we use. But there's more to this than just the word 'Lord'. When Moses asks God who sent him, who God is, the answer is pretty clear: I AM. In a single word God describes who He is. He is. He's not depending on us, He was there even before we existed. Before this world existed. But He will always be there too. Forever. Yawheh is a 'personal title' that Moses gets to describe God. A conjugation of the verb 'to be', He will be. Jehovah, of HEER, is dus de naam van de God die er is, die was en die er ook altijd zal zijn. Hij is dus betrouwbaar, een vaste rost waar we op mogen bouwen. In de Bijbel kunnen we God steeds beter leren kennen en we mogen dan ook weten dat de God die we in de Bijbel zien nu nog steeds onze God is. Hij verandert niet, Hij is er voor eeuwig.

Onze kerntekst voor deze maand is: Exodus 3:13-16
En God zei tegen Mozes: IK BEN DIE IK BEN. Ook zei Hij: Dit moet u tegen de Israëlieten zeggen: IK BEN heeft mij naar u toe gezonden.

Jehovah, or LORD, is the name of the God who is, who was and always will be. We can trust in Him. A steady rock to build upon. We can get to know God in the Bible and we may know that the God of the Bible is still our God. He doesn't change, He will be here forever.

God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

Creatief

Ook deze maand is er weer een pakketje dat je zou kunnen gebruiken bij het maken van je pagina. Maar het staat natuurlijk ook volledig vrij om iets te maken met de spullen die je al hebt liggen.

Ik heb zelf voor mijn pagina gebruik gemaakt van:

Ik vind het leuk om mixed media in mijn bijbel te gebruiken. Voor deze pagina ben ik dan ook aan de slag gegaan met verschillende materialen. Ik heb mijn pagina voorbewerkt met clear gesso maar dit zou niet echt nodig zijn voor deze materialen. Test je kleuren Versamagic wel even op een lege pagina achterin je bijbel om te kijken of ze doordrukken. In mijn bijschrijfbijbel heb ik weleens gehad dat bepaalde kleuren (vooral roodtinten hebben deze neiging) toch doordrukten.

Ik heb eerst de achtergrond gemaakt met een stencil en de Versamagic inkt. Deze heb ik aangebracht met een kleine blender zodat ik de verschillende kleuren naast elkaar kon gebruiken. Hierna heb ik de paper pieces op de plekken gelegd waar ik ze wilde hebben, zodat ik wist hoeveel ruimte er over zou zijn om mijn tekst te schrijven. De tekst heb ik geschreven met een zwarte fineliner en hierna heb ik alles op zijn plek geplakt. Meestal doe ik dit met dubbelzijdig tape, maar in deze bijbel kan ik ook vloeibare lijm gebruiken. De laatste accenten heb ik aangebracht met enamel dots en wat washi tape.

Morgen plaats ik nog een filmpje waarin je uitgebreid kunt zien hoe ik deze pagina heb gemaakt en laat ik de pagina zien die ik in mijn Nederlandse bijbel heb gemaakt (vergelijkbaar met deze pagina).

We made another set for this month. You're not obligated to use this set, you can use anything you want. We just used this one to give you some inspiration.

I used:

I like to use mixed media in my bible. So I used several materials for this page. I prepared my page with clear gesso, but it wouldn't be necessary for this page. Be sure to test the ink on a blank page in the back of your bibel to see if it doesn't bleed in your bible. I used a stencil, the ink and a blender to make the background. I played around with the paper pieces to see where I wanted them and wrote down the words on the page. After that I adhered everything in my bible and finished the page with washi tape and enamel dots.

#BJbibleproject - Pakketten Februari

Psst... de eerste maandpakketten van februari staan ook online! (verzending vanaf dinsdag 22 januari). We hebben om te beginnen drie verschillende pakketjes, met een iets veranderende inhoud. Vandaar ook verschillende prijzen. Het grootste pakket heeft 2 kleuren inkt, een stencil en enamel dots. De andere hebben 1 kleur inkt en soms wel, soms geen enamel dots. De twee kleuren Versamagic kun je goed samen gebruiken, vandaar dat deze wat duurdere variant er ook bij zit. Hoe je die kleuren kunt gebruiken? Daarvan heb ik een voorbeeld op de eerste zaterdag van februari.

The first monthly sets for our #bjbibleproject arrived! We started with 3 different sets (shipping from January 22th), with different content. And different prize ranges. The largest set has two colors of ink, a stencil and enamel dots. The complete package. The others have only 1 color of ink, a stecnil and some have enamel dots and some don't. When you have several colors of Versamagic ink you can easily combine them, that's why we made one set with two colors. How you can use them together? I'm going to show you on the first saturday of February.

Sjema: Luister

Luisteren, wat kan dat soms moeilijk zijn... Vooral om het ook nog écht door te laten dringen en er dan nog wat mee te doen ook. Sara heeft er al een mooi stuk over geschreven dus ik voeg vandaag alleen nog wat persoonlijke inzichten toe en mijn pagina.

Listening... it can be so hard. Especially when you really have to understand what someone says. Sara wrote a great blog about it last week so I'm not going to tell you too much today.

Want hoe goed luister ik zelf eigenlijk? En vooral, hoe goed luister ik naar God? Want ik heb nog weleens de neiging om heel gevoelig te zijn voor wat anderen vinden. Vooral voor wat ze van mij vinden dan. Ben ik wel goed genoeg? Maar er zijn zoveel dingen die veel belangrijker zijn... en die wil ik dan nog weleens over het hoofd zien. Dus wie zet ik dan op nummer één?

Het is belangrijk om goed te luisteren naar God, om Hem op te zoeken in Zijn woord. En dan... te luisteren. Alles door te laten dringen, de woorden te herhalen en nog eens te lezen. En te kijken wat ik er dan mee kan doen. Voor God. Want alles draait om Hem.

Am I a good listener? I don't know... I care a lot about what people say and think about me. Am I good enough? But there is so much more that's important. And sometimes I tend to miss some of these things. Especially when I value the words of other people more than the words of God.

It's important to listen to God, to search for Him in His word. And to... listen. To really understand what the bible says, to read the words again and again. And to see what I can do with them. What I can do for God. Because everything is about Him.

Creatief

Voor deze pagina heb ik verschillende onderdelen gebruikt uit ons pakketje en de spulletjes die ik al had liggen (je kunt meer lezen over de pakketjes onderaan dit blog). Voor de achtergrond heb ik Distress Oxide inkt gebruikt als waterverf en de acrylverf verdund met water om er kleurspetters mee te kunnen maken op mijn pagina. Hierna heb ik de tekst van de stickers uitgelegd op de pagina (de stickers zelf hebben geen hele sterke plaklaag dus ik plak ze altijd nog even extra vast met gewone lijm). Achter de letterstickers heb ik nog wat stukjes washitape gedaan om de tekst een soort lijn te geven om op te laten staan. Hierna heb ik de paper pieces op hun plek gelegd en ben ik de teksten gaan schrijven. Dit heb ik gedaan met een blauwe brush pen van Faber Castell. Om de pagina af te maken heb ik nog een paar enamel dots toegevoegd.

p.s. ik heb de pagina voorbewerkt met clear gesso voor het gebruik van de brush pen van Faber Castell en de Distress Oxide inkt.

Creative

I used several parts of the journaling set from this month and a couple of things out of my stash. I used Distress Oxide for the background and watered down the acrylic paint to make some paint splatters. I laid down the letters from the words where I wanted them and adhered them to the page. After that I adhered the paper pieces and wrote down the words with a blue Faber Castell pen. To finish the page I added a couple of enamel dots.

p.s. I prepared the page with clear gesso because I used the Faber Castell pens and Distress Oxide inks.

De journaling pakketjes

We zijn ontzettend blij dat jullie zo enthousiast zijn over dit project en de bijbeljournaling pakketjes! De eerste lading is zo hard gegaan dat zelfs de leverancier niet meer bij kon leveren... Daarom hebben we nu gekozen voor een andere manier van de pakketjes. We willen natuurlijk niet dat je ze mis moet lopen omdat we sommige producten niet meer kunnen krijgen. Daarom maken we verschillende pakketjes per maand (ze bevatten wel allemaal de paper pieces). Per pakketje geldt dus wel: op=op. Het is van tevoren bijna niet in te schatten wat we nog via de leverancier bij kunnen bestellen dus vandaar dat er nu gekozen is voor deze oplossing. Vandaag zijn er twee nieuwe pakketjes voor deze maand online gezet. Voor deze pakketjes geldt de kortingscode ook nog, dus vergeet die niet toe te voegen bij je bestelling! #BJbibleproject - kick-off

Het is zover! Vandaag trapt Sara het #BJbibleproject af met het eerste blog! Neem zeker een kijkje bij haar om meer te horen over de sjema. In de loop van de maand blijven we nog stukjes over dit onderwerp delen, dus blijf ons volgen om niks te missen.

We gaan in de eerste 6 maanden van het komende jaar 6 kernwoorden uit de 'sjema' verwerken. In plaats van een snelle challenge zoals de Woordvrouw van 2017 of 2018 nemen we nu juist de tijd om goed na te denken over de woorden van de sjema en alles goed tot ons door te laten dringen. We mogen als basis de filmpjes van 'the bible project' gebruiken en die geven elke maand al extra uitleg voor de woorden zelf. Hiernaast zullen we ook onze eigen overdenkingen en creatieve verwerkingen plaatsen.

Bij het #bjbibleproject hebben we ook elke maand een leuk craftpakketje samengesteld voor jullie! Elke maand hebben we een aantal leuke producten uitgezocht die je kunt gebruiken in je bijbel journal. Hiermee willen we je meteen wat inspiratie geven om mee aan de slag te gaan deze maand (en de meeste producten kun je ook nog veel vaker gebruiken). Je hoeft de producten natuurlijk niet te hebben om mee te doen met de challenge. Maak gerust een verwerking met je eigen materialen, maar mocht je op zoek zijn naar nieuwe spulletjes dan zijn de pakketjes ideaal. En we maken ook elke maand onze eigen paper pieces die passen bij het thema van de maand! En deze maand starten we dus met de woorden die we gaan behandelen de komende maanden en met de tabs voor elke maand. Daarnaast ook nog een aantal woorden die gewoon heel goed passen bij het thema van januari.

In the first six months of 2019 we're going to think about the 'shema'. Instead of an intenst challenge like 31daysofbiblicalwoman in 2017 and 2018 we choose to take a step back in 2019 and take the time to focus on the words from the shema. We can use the movies that 'the bible project' made and we will write our own blogs each month. With some extra creative stuff of course (bible journaling or faith journaling in our journals).

We made a bible journaling set for each month in the #bjbibleproject too. We searched for some fun products you can use in your bible journal to give you inspiration for this month (and the months to follow, most items will be useful for a couple of pages). You don't have to use these projects to join us in the challenge, but if you would like some new materials; the sets are perfect! We added our own paper pieces to the sets too, so you will get something that's made especially for this challenge! This month we Sara made beautiful drawings of all the words we're going to talk about these months and I made 6 tabs. We also added some words that fit the theme for January perfectly.

Paper Pieces by Sara Lindenhols & Lucilight. Deze paper pieces zijn speciaal gemaakt voor dit project. Je ontvangt mooie tekeningen van Sara met daarop de woorden die we dit half jaar gaan behandelen. Ook krijg je van elk woord een tab om in je bijbel te plakken. Chipboard Alphabet 'Imagine That' van Echo Park. Een mooie kleurrijke set met chipboard letterstickers. Het hele alfabet, de cijfers en een aantal leestekens kun je vinden in deze set. De stickers zijn wat dikker, maar ook erg mooi om te gebruiken in je bijbel.

Merry Christmas!

Ik wil jullie allemaal hele Fijne Feestdagen wensen. Dat het Eeuwige Licht overal hoop mag brengen. Of je deze dagen nu met familie en vrienden doorbrengt of juist alleen zit. Dat je toch wat van Jezus Licht mee mag krijgen. Door de dingen die je leest, ziet, voelt of hoort.

I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. That the Light from the Eternal Light may give you hope. When you're spending your days with family and friends or if you're alone. I hope that you can see a glimpse of the light that Jesus wants to give us in the things you read, see, feel or hear.
