I am Loved
'Want dan zal Christus in jullie hart wonen door jullie geloof. Dan zullen jullie stevig geworteld zijn in zijn liefde, net zoals een boom met zijn wortels stevig in de grond staat. En dan zullen jullie samen met alle andere gelovigen gaan zien hoe breed en hoe lang, hoe hoog en hoe diep de liefde van Christus is. En dan zullen jullie gaan zien dat die liefde te groot is om te begrijpen. En dan zullen jullie vol worden van God Zelf.' (Ef. 3:17-19)
‘so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.’ (Eph. 3:17-19)
Ik ben zo geliefd dat het niet in afmetingen is uit te drukken. Dat is nog steeds iets wat ik moeilijk te begrijpen vind. Ik wéét dat het waar is maar blijkbaar doet die wetenschap er lang over om van mijn hoofd naar mijn hart af te reizen. Er zijn veel dagen dat ik het idee heb die liefde totaal niet te verdienen. Maar gelukkig hoeven wij het ook niet te verdienen, maar houdt God altijd van ons. Hij zal altijd met Zijn armen open staan om ons te ontvangen, net zoals bij de verloren zoon. Deze stempelset heeft me weer een beetje 'gedwongen' op zoek te gaan naar Gods liefde in de bijbel. Zodat hopelijk die wetenschap ook een keer landt in mijn hart.
I’m loved beyond measure. It’s still something that I struggle with. I know it’s true but for some reason this knowledge takes a long time to settle down in my heart. There are a lot of days that I don’t feel worthy of Gods love, but I may know that not my actions determine the love of God but that He loves me no matter what. That He will always welcome me into His loving arms, just like the prodigal son. This stamp set helped me to get back on the journey to find Gods love in the bible.
Ik heb mijn pagina eerst weer voorbewerkt met clear gesso. De andere kant van de pagina had een beetje doorgeschenen omdat daar nogal felle kleuren op staan. Ik moest dus op zoek naar een manier om dit te bedekken (of te verwerken in deze pagina). Ik heb gekozen voor een paar kleuren acrylverf om een achtergrond mee te maken. Ik had hiermee de achtergrond wel kunnen bedekken, maar ik heb uiteindelijk toch ervoor gekozen om nog een stukje papier met patroon eroverheen te pakken. Zo was het écht weg en tegelijk vond ik dat ook mooi bij deze pagina passen (het papier is uit de Faith Collection in de webshop). De teksten heb ik gestempeld op wit papier en uitgeknipt. Ik vond dat er nog iets ontbrak aan de achtergrond dus ik heb nog wat blaadjes erbij gestempeld. Toen de achtergrond echt klaar was heb ik de gestempelde onderdelen erop geplakt en dat was het voor deze pagina.
I prepared my bible page with clear gesso (the pages in my Dutch bible are very thin). The other side of the page left some bleeding on this page so I had to find a way to cover that up. I used my acrylic paints to make a background. I would be able to cover most of the bleeding with the paint (or incorporate it into this page) but I decided to add a piece of paper on the left side of my margin. Just to be sure that nothing would show through. I stamped the tag and some words onto white paper and cut them out. The name tag and everything on it is from the set ‘Hello My Name Is’, the words Amen and the heart are from ‘Note This. I missed something in the background of my page so I decided to stamp a couple of leaves from the ‘Whimsy Bouquet’ stamp set with black ink. When my background was finished I adhered the stamped pieces into my bible and that’s it.
