Blessings for the new year
En toen was het einde van het jaar alweer aangebroken. De laatste Soulful Song van dit jaar. Nu moet ik zeggen dat het niet echt een ‘typische soulful song’ is vandaag. Ik wilde toch iets met het aanstaande nieuwe jaar doen dus dan wordt je keuze al wat beperkter. Veel christelijke ‘happy new years’ (of ‘blessed new year’ in dat geval) kon ik even niet bedenken. Maar als het dan toch over de beste wensen gaat… Dan is ‘Ik wens jou’ natuurlijk wel gepast.
Dit jaar ben ik op vakantie geweest in Ierland en ik vind al de zegenbedes die ze daar hebben zo mooi. Dit liedje komt daar wel bij in de buurt. Ik kan nog hele verhalen gaan schrijven erover, maar misschien is het beter om gewoon te luisteren. Alle beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar.
Aangezien er een Nederlandse en een Engelse versie van dit nummer is deel ik beide hier maar, de bovenste is de Nederlandse en de onderste Engels.
We reached the end of 2017. The last Soulful Song for this year. It’s not a typical soulful song this time. I wanted to do something with the new year and the choices in christian songs are pretty limited. As far as I know ;). But I wanted to share this song with you that wishes you all that you need.
I visited Ireland this year and I really love their blessings. This song reminds me of these blessings. I can write a lot about this, but maybe it's better to just listen to them. I wish you the best for the new year.
